Presbyterian Women

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ,

and empowered by the Holy Spirit,

we commit ourselves:

  • To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • To support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • To work for justice and peace and
  • To build an inclusive, caring community of women
  • that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA)
  • and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

PW Circles offer Bible study, spiritual nurture and

Christian fellowship and meet on the 2nd Tuesday

of each month from Sept. through May.

  • Circle 1 meets at 10:00am at the church
  • Circle 2 meets at 7:30 pm in private homes
  • Circle 3 meets at 7:00 pm in private homes

Men of the Church

Our men meet for dinner and devotions on the

3rd Wednesday of each month.  They generously

support our youth with an annual "Mini Taste"

(a Smorgasbord offering a favorite dish from each of

our men). They are also seriously involved in the

annual Relay for Life.

Chancel Choir

Our chancel choir enhances, leads and facilitates

our worship experience with beautiful anthems and

melodies. Members are a group of men and women
who enjoy praising the Lord with their voices.

Bell Choir

Our bell choir is a fairly new and wonderful addition

to our worship experience.  If you close your eyes you

might think a piece of heaven has descended and angels

are worshipping.  Eleven dedicated ladies work very hard to

enhance the worship experience and ring praises to God

through the gift of their music.

Youth Group

Led by Leslie St.John, Youth Pastor, our youth are growing

in theirfaith through study and fellowship.  Jr. and Sr. PYF

groups are finding their faith by experiencing life in a Christian

atmosphere and seeing how their belief in God influences their

life and alsohow the way they live, influences their belief

(and that of others') in God.

Clarendon County Relay for Life

Several of our members participated in the walk against cancer. We thank all who participated by working on the campsite, donating money, purchasing bows and donating luminaries. The men of the church worked on the campsite along with some of the members of the youth group. The ladies of the church provided food and beverages at the school grounds. Many members walked in memory of those lost to cancer and in honor of those who have survived this terrible disease . The church had several members who made the survivor walk.

2006 Relay for Life

The Theme for this years' Relay for Life was T.V shows and we choose "The Beverly Hillbillies"
Our Church was honored by receiving three of the top awards.

  • Best Theme
  • Best Costumes
  • Best All Around Campsite

On May 21, 2006, our Bell Choir presented a "Sermon in Music" which was enjoyed by all.  It's hard to say who enjoys a bell concert more - the "ringers" who are praising God with their music or the congregation whose worship experience is enhanced by the beauty of the music.  Most good sermons have a joke or two to keep the congregation awake and this "Sermon in Music" was no different.  One song was "This Little Light of Mine" which is played by tapping the bells with mallets.  It is an arrangement that brings a smile to your face and it's obvious the "ringers" enjoy playing it.  On a more serious side, "A Quiet Alleluia" was the most reverent and prayerful piece performed.

The concert was absolutely beautiful and the worship service was enhanced by the ringing of the bells.  Our God was praised and the music must have been a sweet, sweet sound in His ear.  Our people were blessed and left the sanctuary with lighter spirits than when they entered.
